Original article published December 12th, 2024: Nike just wrapped up another SNKRS Showcase, revealing several new and old models slated to roll out throughout 2025. The “Cult Classics” segment of the live preview was well fed, with Nike flaunting Air Diamond Turf retros and more original Air Tech Challenge II colorways. The “Racer Pink” is already on the docket for January 16th, followed by the return of the “Tart” aka “Stone Blue” during the Summer 2025 shopping season.
To the uninitiated; Nike’s Air Tech Challenge line rose to prominence in the 1990s due in no small part to the tennis stars of its era, namely Andre Agassi and John McEnroe. Nike brought back the “Hot Lava” colorway in August of 2024, and while the release didn’t necessarily dominate headlines, it was arguably one of Nike’s best retro propositions of the year (so far). The “Tart” colorway most recently hit shelves in 2014, meaning there should be ample demand for the eventual Summer 2025 retro. Orange and “Stone Blue” hits appear over a white leather base, complete with some tasteful pre-aging on the rear portion of the midsole and lower eyestay.
No firm date has been confirmed at the time of this writing, but as mentioned, the Air Tech Challenge II “Tart” aka “Stone Blue” is due out Summer 2025. Expect an MSRP of $150 upon arrival.
