It’s been over two decades since Nike celebrated the Chinese New Year with a holiday-themed Air Force 1, and as time has gone by, the annual touchpoint has evolved into a go-to reference for the Beaverton brand’s entire catalog. Our coverage of Nike’s “Year Of The Snake” collection for Spring 2025 has focused almost exclusively on lifestyle shoes thus far, but as expected, we’re now starting to get first looks at some of the basketball propositions on tap.
Here we have a “Year Of The Snake” edition of the Zoom GT Cut 3; Nike’s premier non-signature hoops shoe and one of the most heavily-favored models in the NBA. Tried-and-true red and gold accents are the play, with the familiar Chinese New Year color combo gracing the tongue and ZoomX portion of the midsole. Metallic gold flakes decorate an “Ironstone” Swoosh, complemented by a series of characters on the lateral side of the heel. The backtab features a debossed pattern over “Sail” suede, while most of the remaining exterior comes in “Sail” synthetic material. Capping off the delivery with more minor touches, Nike also includes a gold upper eyestay, subtle red stitching around the forefoot, and a printed red and gold graphic over the insoles.
The Zoom GT Cut 3 “Year Of The Snake” is earmarked for a January 1st, 2025 release, commanding the usual $190 retail price. Take advantage of the purchase links in our “Where To Buy” section below if you’re interested in securing a pair upon arrival.
