Nike Spins Regal “Metallic Gold” On The Air Pegasus Wave

Color-changing panels elevate this techy edition.

Nike Spins Regal “Metallic Gold” On The Air Pegasus Wave

Whether your personal rooting interests are with the Swoosh or elsewhere, there’s no denying that Nike is often playing in a different tier than most of its competition. However, there are some trends that are bigger than Beaverton and simply can’t be ignored — the tech runner sneaker wave is absolutely in that category. Many of their recent formulations have attempted to strike gold in that vertical, with one of the splashier entrants represented by the Nike Air Pegasus Wave.

Now embracing “Metallic Gold,” utilizing reflective shades isn’t the biggest surprise, especially given how other peer models make such heavy use of those hues. However, the colorway featured here leans into the regal atmosphere of those gilded accents. Look to the interior, and insole more specifically, to see a Romanesque font proudly displaying the brand name. While the Pegasus Wave has been positioned as premium product in general (see the limited quantity of colorways since its August unveiling and the shoe exclusively dropping via SNKRS), this is easily the pair that best executes a “special edition” atmosphere.

Expect the Nike Air Pegasus Wave “Metallic Gold” maintaining those release specifics: a SNKRS drop and $160 retail price will likely come about this Spring. Check out official images included below in the meantime.
