The New Balance 1906R “Lunar New Year” Features A Soothing Gradient

Expected to release Spring 2025.

The New Balance 1906R “Lunar New Year” Features A Soothing Gradient

New Balance is celebrating the Lunar New Year by bringing moon-inspired gradients to some of their foremost models. Hot off the heels of a fade-to-black New Balance 1000 in honor of the occasion, the New Balance 1906R is offering up a similar yet lighter take on the holiday theme.

While rather tame in nature, the shoe differs from your average GR with a dark-to-light gradient along the base. The heel counter abides by the fading theme in dark grey, while all the overlays appear in the lighter shade and are amplified by reflective touches. Lunar New Year shoes are traditionally tied to Chinese Zodiac animals, but New Balance’s Spring 2025 selection looks to be focusing on evergreen aesthetics as opposed to going all-in on holiday embellishments.

The New Balance 1906R “Lunar New Year” doesn’t have a confirmed release date at the time of this writing, so return periodically to our Sneaker Release Dates page for further updates. In the meantime, see official images below.
