Nike Clads The Air Pegasus 2K5 In Trendy “Metallic Silver”

Trademark Y2K stylings grace the retro model.

Nike Clads The Air Pegasus 2K5 In Trendy “Metallic Silver”

Though it may not have the cultural purchase or momentum of its younger brother, the Zoom Vomero 5, the Nike Air Pegasus 2K5 still stands as one of the Swoosh’s biggest embraces of Y2K sylings. Unadulterated from its time on the shelves during its (natural) 2005 release year, the model has slid in as a slightly more accessible counterpart to the Vomero, spotlighting similar aesthetic choices as they both capitalize on renewed appetite for retro footwear.

In the “Metallic Silver” colorway just revealed, that motivation has never been clearer. Pinning straight black leather and mesh across the upper only serves to further enhance the reflective chrome accents that run in between, the contrast between the two shades helping to emphasize the layered composition of the once-performance model. Close out with similar layering on the midsole, highlighted by the extended slits in the rubber that echo the TPU cage up top, and you’ve got a pair that both taps into trendy energy and can slide into most, if not all, wardrobes.

Look for the Nike Air Pegasus 2K5 “Black/Metallic Silver” landing on Nike.com and local shelves in the short-term future, with its usual $140 retail price most likely.
