Though Ja Morant’s season has been partially marred by injury so far, he and his Memphis Grizzlies are holding onto a top 3 seed in the West, reclaiming their year-in, year-out playoff contender status after the brief 2023-24 interregnum. His Ja 2, as well, has been off to a hot start, hitting the ground running with a near-sell-out in its debut colorway and minting a string of new looks in the short span since.
The shoe at hand, a kids’ sized edition with vibrant “Blue Burst” and “Hyper Pink” tones, marks a second expressive GS affair that follows the similarly expressive Ja 2 “Poison Dart Frog.” As of now, the shoe stands alone in the Nike Basketball catalog, not accompanied by corresponding kicks the way the LeBron 22 pairs with that aforementioned pair. Still, this continues efforts on Morant and Swoosh hoops’ parts to tap into the younger demo with loud basketball shoes, a vertical that #2’s high flying, expressive on-court playstyle already aligns well with.
Look for the Nike Ja 2 “Blue Burst” to hit shelves in the coming weeks as we approach Spring 2025, hovering between the $97 and $105 price points we’ve seen for previous editions.
