Ripstop takes over the quarter and tongue.

Nike Heads To The Desert With A Utility-Focused Air Force 1

Nike has been capitalizing on the “gorpcore” trend by bringing technical enhancements to some of their foremost lifestyle offerings, including the Air Force 1. While 2023 saw the introduction of an outdoor-minded offshoot called the Air Force 1 Wild, the Beaverton brand has simultaneously been delivering a likeminded aesthetic to the original circa. 1982 silo.

Here we have a “Desert Khaki” edition for Spring 2025, complete with some key texture swaps and added utility-focused qualities. The quarter and tongue break from the rest of the all-suede upper with ripstop material, complemented by a black Swoosh comprised of textured ballistic fabric. The defining feature here is an added pull strap on the bottom portion of the backtab, allowing for an easier slip-on. All things considered, however, the added technical features are more cosmetic than anything else. That’s to say if you want to look outdoorsy but don’t actually venture out into nature, these might be for you.

The Air Force 1 Low “Desert Khaki” is due out Spring 2025, although no MSRP has been confirmed at the time of this writing. See official images below and return periodically to our Sneaker Release Dates page for further updates.
