With their “Lunar New Year” collection now released, the next capsule out of Boston focuses on the 2002R in two everlasting colorways.
Refined notes of deep olive and airy off-white coat either edition, with the chrome overlays underneath and cool shades at the tongue, heel, quarter, and midsole, an additional uniting factor across both. The darker pair, in particular, strongly resembles one of its launch looks from the start of its retro effort in 2020, perhaps a knowing reference as the model celebrates 5 years back in the mainline. Even without the “historic” ties, the New Balance 2002R remains perfectly tailored to these simplistic looks, and the internal contrast between this duo adds some more texture to this release.
These two New Balance 2002R colorways are queued up for January 9th via select global channels — likely meaning that a stateside release isn’t far off. If and when they land in the US, expect the usual $150 sticker price.
