Of Course The ASICS GEL-NYC Gets Yankees Colors

With “NYC” in its name, the end results can be a bit predictable. This modern-era ASICS sneaker inspired by retro styling continues to be one of the more popular casual silhouettes in the market, rivaled by only a few.

Designed by Angelo Baque, at one point the head of the ASICS Collective, the GEL-NYC has since been thrust into the forefront of the Japanese brand’s accessible lifestyle footwear options. You won’t see much in terms of collaborations, but if you’re looking for a solid insertion into your rotation, the GEL-NYC hasn’t really lost its place.

Already releasing to start off 2025, the ASICS GEL-NYC is now available in a duet of colorways that has some obvious appeal to fans of the New York Yankees. At one point the dominating sports franchise in the Big Apple, the Yankees now split territory with the New York Mets as the once “younger brother” team has proven it can compete. Still, ASICS seems to show love to the Bronx faithful with these fitting colorways.
