The Nike AlphaFly 3 isn’t for casuals; it’s for elite marathon runners and those who obsess about getting the absolute most out of their footwear on race day. We’re currently in a bit of a lull period in between racing seasons, but that’s not stopping Nike from teeing up fresh colorways. This white and “Gridiron” look is the Beaverton brand’s latest, and if its special markings are any indication, runners should expect a late Spring 2025 release.
Official images reveal a white knit upper, save for a “Gridiron” Swoosh that dips down into the midsole. The heel portion introduces a “Pure Platinum” gradient, hosting a text box reading “Road Racing AF” and “2025-03,” therefore hinting at a potential March 2025 release. Those same markings appears on the insoles, capping off all the notable design highlights. As far as performance goes, the AlphaFly 3 brings three key innovations to a helm; stacked Air Zoom units appear in the forefoot, ZoomX foam makes up the midsole, and a full-length carbon fiber plate enhances forward propulsion. It’s Nike’s lightest AlphaFly shoe to date and the sneaker of choice for elite runners like Eliud Kipchoge and Kelvin Kiptum, both of whom have broken world records in the shoe.
