Matt Varga Collaborations on LaMelo Ball shoes have really kicked into high gear with in the past year. Following the Scooby-Doo link-up, the Hornets superstar joining forces with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has arguably been his signature line’s most impressive to date. PUMA has just pulled back the curtain on when and how to get your hands on all four pairs, with a major twist on how to secure the fifth.
As far as pairs we’ve seen, we’ve got two alternating pairs of the MB.04, each encapsulating two of the four turts: Michelangelo and Leonardo bring their masked visages and respective orange and light blue shades to one set, while Raphael and Donatello split across another. Supergenius-turned-supervillain Baxter Stockman lands on the MB.01 Low. A new entrant, the brain-like Krang ushers the MB.03 Low into the collection, draping LaMelo’s signature in (literal) pink matter and stamping his yellow eyes at the forefoot.
However, as he’s want to do, Shredder was lurking in the shadows all along. His “Shredder” PUMA MB.o4 makes its debut with this announcement, creating a chromed-out profile with purple accents, his arms and steel claws jutting out from the heel onto the quarter. As promised in our title, getting your hands on this pair will be a bit more complex than the ones that precede it. Those who pull in all four pairs will get Shredder’s edition for free, but the classic “while supplies last” is paramount here — only 444 pairs are up for grabs.
Even completing that task will take some patience. The LaMelo Ball PUMA Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collection tips off with the MB.01 “Baxter Stockman” on February 1st ($135.) From there, it’s about a weekly cadence; the MB.04 “Raphael & Donatello” drops on February 8th ($135), the “Leonardo & Michelangelo” on February 14th ($135), and the MB.03 Lo “Krang” on February 22nd ($125). PUMA has promised further updates on how exactly to provide proof of all four to grab the “Shredder” via their site.
