A Ruby Red Slipper Version Of The Wizard Of Oz Nike SB Dunks Is Revealed

Updated January 24th, 2025: According to UnheardOfBrand, one of the retailers that carried the Wizard Of Oz Dunks, Nike included just one pair of the Red Ruby Slippers Dunks in all their shipments to skateshops.

December’s Wizard Of Oz Dunks release left many Nike SB fans happy. A memorable collaboration marked by a well-executed design and released via blind-bag style added a bit of mystery to the celebrated release, but this newly revealed alternate version should send SB fans in a frenzy while thinking twice about flipping them for cash.

Uncovered by David Bluetile, owner of South Carolina’s Bluetile Skatesboards, an alternate version of the Wizard Of Oz x Nike SB Dunk Low further tells the story of the iconic American film. An obvious nod to Dorothy’s ruby red slippers, this SB Dunk Low is covered in dazzling red sequins while flaming red details at the toe-box represent the fiery reaction to when the Wicked Witch of the West tries to remove the footwear from the protagonist’s feet.

The entire shoe is covered in a red, while a soft sky blue lines the interior to match the dress worn by Dorothy throughout the film. Two sets of insoles reveal the ominous “Surrender Dorothy” message in black smoke left behind by the Witch, while the second features an iconic still of the red slippers on the Wicked Witch of the East. Bluetile’s YouTube video goes a bit more in-depth in the design below.

Since the shoes were released in a blind bag, some lucky customers could be receiving this much rarer Friends And Family alternate version.
