Could we be in the midst of an Air Jordan 1 renaissance? The Jumpman putting incredible weight behind the release of the Air Jordan 1 “Bred” is certainly a good sign if you’re betting the model will return to the sneakerhead relevancy it held up until recent times. Yet if you’re more comfortable with the model remaining a lowkey option, the Jordan 1 Low remains right up your alley, serving up no-frills colorways in extremely accessible fashion, demonstrated by the “Hydrogen Blue” look at hand.

While shoes we’ve described as “two-tone” before often diverge in the midsole or other select aspects, this is an authentic execution of the phrase. “Hydrogen Blue,” coating the underlays, outsole, and foot entrance, and “Sail,” pasted on the overlays, midsole and laces, are genuinely the only two colors to be found. The upper/lower split keeps this pair in good company alongside previous historical Jordan 1s, but the comprehensive treatment still manages to carve out some new flair inside those bounds.
