The Nike Total 90 III SP Wears “Sail” Suede

The on-pitch icon leaves behind its typical sportiness.

The Nike Total 90 III SP Wears “Sail” Suede

At any given time, there’s a dozen retro efforts currently underway in Beaverton; such is the way a company of their size and one with a backlog as deep as theirs operates. Given that audience attention is a finite resource, there can only be a few that truly cut through the noise, and their efforts behind the Nike Total 90 III SP signal it’s one of the most internally cherished in the current roster.

With the model already chalking off many of its most significant OG colorways, it would appear that now is the time to start taking some big swings on the Nike Total 90 III SP canvas, evidenced by the suede overhaul of the upper with this “Sail” colorway. Obviously the performance shoe was modified greatly underfoot to befit a lifestyle turn, but this marks an even bigger shift, changing out of the hardware that made the Total SP an on-pitch icon in its introduction. Further straying from that is the delicate lace branding and laces, acting in airier contrast to the double stitch detailing that runs across the toe.

It’s currently unclear at the time of writing when the Nike Total 90 III SP “Sail” will hit shelves, but we can confidently report a $100 MSRP exclusively in women’s sizing.
