Matt Varga adidas and FC Bayern are becoming one of the more reliable relationships in A-level soccer, surely made more seamless by the fact neither have to leave Germany for it. The first two editions focused on Munich’s basketball arm by ushering in the adidas Dame 9, Crazy 8 Low and Centennial. Now, the partners are switching focus to the pitch, teeing off theFC Bayern adidas Samba set to drop on February 20th.
We’ve already seen adidas’ sponsees grace a host of soccer-themed colorways here stateside, with clubs like Inter Miami and Charlotte FC coating Sambas in simplistic palette swaps. While the the cream and burgundy of Bayern Munich’s third kits is applied in heavy doses, this also comes with some compositional changes, replacing the leather foundation with knit fabric underpinnings. And of course, the club’s logo is placed loud and proud on the tongue, an opportune moment for fans to stick their chest out as the dominant squad looks to reconquer the Bundesliga after missing the top spot for the first time in a decade.
