Matt Varga He may have ice in his veins, but Damian Lillard certainly wasn’t accustomed to the cold before his move to Milwaukee. Chiefly a West Coast player through his adolescence, college, and Portland days, he’s now in a fitting locale for the latest colorway of his Dame 9, capturing a chilly “Legend Blue”-like colorway.
Plastering snowy “Footwear White” throughout the upper, with notes of “Lucid Cyan” peeking through on the outsole and slitted Three Stripes branding at the quarter, is the primary way the subzero atmosphere takes over this shoe. However, novel logos on the heel and insole (a basketball in what appears to be an ice cube and a melting heart) also showcase the theme.
Putting this level of effort into a one-off look seems unlikely, so perhaps it’s a signal that additional adidas Basketball peers will be joining the Dame 9 (one of the Harden Vol. 9 looks previewed at the start of its rollout aligns well with that idea). Importantly, with the unveiling of the Dame X at All-Star weekend, we now know that the days of the Dame 9 are somewhat numbered, leaving only a short window for this model to capitalize on similar efforts.
All that said, the adidas Dame 9 in this “Footwear White/Lucid Cyan” / “Legend Blue” colorway is expected to hit shelves during the Spring/Summer ’25 shopping season.
