Tom Sachs And Nike Just Restocked The Original General Purpose Shoe

The duo drops its first sneaker since 2023.

Tom Sachs And Nike Just Restocked The Original General Purpose Shoe

The Tom Sachs x Nike partnership is finally starting to bear fruit again. The New York artist’s extraordinarily popular General Purpose Shoe just restocked in its original “Light Cream” colorway via the Tom Sachs studio website. It originally dropped in 2022, exclusively through Tom Sachs’ Studio.

This surprise return marks the first sneaker release of a Tom Sachs Nike sneaker in over two years, with the two parties halting their projects in 2023 due to allegations that the American artist was fostering a hostile, cult-like work environment. First reported by Curbed, the new shocked the art community as Sachs was known to have a very free, light-hearted persona to the public eye.

Nike announced that the partnership would resume in September of 2024, also tipping off a Mars Yard 3.0 for 2025. Earlier this year, an official first look at the third Mars Yard shoe was revealed with some key updates to the previous iteration.

See official images of the “Light Cream” General Purpose Shoe below and take advantage of our “Where To Buy” section for purchase links. The sneaker retails for $109.99, just as it did back in 2022. It’s not clear if new colorways are in the works.
