Since emerging as a sample towards the end of 2024, the Nike Air Foamposite One “Black Volt” elicited comparisons to the bygone “Cactus” colorway from the mid aughts. Given the dominant black palette and flares of bright green on the sole unit, it’s a fair comparison, and perhaps that “Golden Age” colorway was, in fact, a reference point here. However, official Nike copy includes no references to that 2007 pair, instead opting to let the “Black Volt” establish its own legacy. It does, however, mark another heavy year of Foamposite releasesfor Nike, evidently intent on sparking a true Foamposite revolution: the Flightposite and return of the Galaxy Foams bolstered that effort in the weeks preceding this pair.
