Deion Sanders Celebrates Mother’s Day With The Nike Air DT Max ’96 “Love Letter To Connie”

Dropping days before Mother's Day 2025.

Deion Sanders Celebrates Mother’s Day With The Nike Air DT Max ’96 “Love Letter To Connie”

With Coach Prime reviving his partnership with Nike, the Swoosh has drawn up some strong plays as part of its offense. In bringing back the classic Diamond Turf models into the fold, Deion has been able to tell more personal stories through his footwear, with none as profound as this upcoming all-red iteration.

Presented here is the Air DT Max ’96, one of two current Retro models in circulation as part of Nike’s Diamond Turf plans. While the two-toned red colorway connects to the colors of both the 49ers and the Falcons, it’s actually a tribute to his mother Connie Knight. While there are no external details that allude to the concept, the insole features “Love Letter To Connie”, stamping these as a tribute to the maternal figure who continues to shift his perspective.

This continues a recent influx of Diamond Turf styles that tell more stories off the field; the recent “Signing Day” colorway recognizes Deion’s flashy outfit and jewelry from the night he got drafted into the NFL back in 1989. In fact, that evening has connections to this release because Deion ensured that once he became pro, his mother never worked another day.

This heartfelt sneaker release is due out on SNKRS and select Nike retail partners on May 7th, 2025 for $170, dropping just days before the Mother’s Day holiday.
