Sneaker News One of the most bizarre variations ever concocted of an Air Jordan Retro is undoubtedly this women’s exclusive drop of the AJ4. Featuring a plastic netting shroud on the upper in place of the standard lacing set-up, the Air Jordan 4 Net garnered one of the louder responses in recent memory although it’s not nearly as sacrilegious as the public is making them out to be.
The design is an abstract take on the classic plastic netting that sits at the mid-foot of the Air Jordan 4 uppers. Jordan Brand chose to kick that door wide open, expanding it into a larger frame that wraps the entire mid-foot while completely replacing the traditional shoe-lace set-up. There are laces above that frame that lock in only the fore-foot and upper eyelets that serve no real purpose.
This upcoming “Rattan” is now the third colorway of the Air Jordan 4 Net family. Featuring a tonal execution of this light tan shade, Jordan Brand floods the entirety of the shoe in Rattan to match the metallic gold charms and accessories that are seen dangling off the upper. It’ll come housed in a special white shoe-box made just for this release.
