Black Patent Leather Covers This Retro Nike Air Force 1 Low

Nods to the aughts continue in stealthy fashion.

Black Patent Leather Covers This Retro Nike Air Force 1 Low

Retro sensibilities are all of a sudden becoming a major driver of Nike’s current Air Force 1 strategy. The range of canvas Air Force 1 variants reviving the model’s 90’s arrangement was a serious indication of that fact, but a return to the patent leather stylings of the 2000s has only been growing in recent months. It’s again a focus for the shoe’s latest edition, a black and “Armory Blue” do-up of the Nike Air Force 1 Low.

While the glossy material always makes for an attention-grabbing shoe, the Air Force 1 Low “Armory Blue” applies everything else in relatively standard fashion. An ice blue sole and tongue tag breaks up a monochromatic palette throughout, executed with stealthy patent leather panels at the toe and heel and white laces and branding notes. If you tend to dress in line with Y2K trends, these should be right up your alley, but again, this isn’t a shoe that reinvents the wheel. What’s perhaps more intriguing is the inclusion of a tech booklet harkening to the original 1984 ad for the Air Force 1 High, notably referenced with a hangtag attaché included along with toothbrushes in the 2022 run of anniversary pairs.

As a genuine GR, the Nike Air Force 1 Low “Black/Armory Blue” should materialize on Nike.com sometime in the coming weeks, retailing for $125 upon arrival. Our Sneaker Release Dates page will have any updated info on this pair as its launch nears closer. In the meantime, enjoy the full suite of official images included below.
