Sneaker News With the March Madness NCAA tournament wrapping soon, Nike is poised to keep the college vibes alive with a series of college-themed colorways of their signature athlete footwear icons. Devin Booker’s upcoming Nike Book 1 “Blue Blood”, for example, nods to his time as a Kentucky Wildcat, whereas this upcoming Ja 2 recalls the Grizzlies star’s time at the mid-major.
Appearing in classic team colorways, this JA 2 features a primary white upper matched with a golden yellow and a dark navy to fit the Racers school colors. The only remarkable detail about this upcoming release is the chenille Swoosh, selected deliberately to exude that varsity jacket aesthetic.
Although seemingly standard in its construction and build, this Nike JA 2 clocks in at $140, which is a $20 bump from the typical releases. Official Nike images don’t reveal any additional accoutrements with the exception of the varsity jacket style Swoosh, so it remains to be seen if this price increase is warranted. Ja’s other $120 offerings were gracious enough to throw in some special lace dubrae, so we’re as puzzled as you are.
Regardless, this Nike JA 2 releases on April 18th for $140 on Nike.com and partnering Nike Basketball retailers.
