It’s pretty common to find someone who can rattle off archival Jordan styles with ease, but knowledge of classic Air Force 1 edition is undoubtedly a cut above when it comes to hobby knowledge. That might inherently limit the target of this comparison, but the Nike Air Force 1 Low “Anthracite” that just hit the newswire bears heavy connections to that exact category.

To plainly spell out the comp, it’s the gum-soled Courir Air Force 1 Low that immediately jumps to our minds. The ultra-simplistic arrangement of that ’02 edition makes subsequent pairs easy to tap into its register, as the shoe at hand does with its black leather foundation, gum bottoms and white Swooshes and midsole tones slicing through that arrangement. To ensure that “grail” piece still has territory to itself, Beaverton shifts the heel cup to black leather and utilizes orange embroidery on top of it.

As a true GR, the Nike Air Force 1 Low should be hitting Nike.com and partnering retailers sometime in the coming weeks, likely hovering around the usual $115 MSRP.
