Matt Varga Though the Hornets have turned their attention to the Copper Flagg sweepstakes, LaMelo Ball’s category under PUMA is still bustling. His signature line recently adding the PUMA MB.04 Lo on top of adding bountiful colorways of its original build, further securing the lifestyle lane with the PUMA LaFrance. Though we’ve still yet to clear out all of the “Easter” editions that brands are issuing, the German giant and superstar PG are looking ahead via the Puma LaFrance for Mother’s Day.
The tonal purple profile that this shoe strikes aligns well with what we’ve seen from the silhouette so far, usually relying on these sort of aesthetically simplified palettes. The big innovation with this pair in particular is the the butterfly graphics that creep from the midsole to the heel counter, a tie back to similar themes seen on LaFrance’s inline apparel drops (the nymphalid family already inspired the circular pockets underfoot.) Though holiday-themed footwear can unfortunately get lost in the closet for 364 days, the tie of this royal purple back to the Hornets’ coloring makes it a fit for year-round wear.
