One of the more opaque storylines this year has been that of the Nike SB Air Force 1, reported in the final stages of 2024 before official looks at those purported SKUs began to surface. With the legendary Eric Koston revealing a wear test sample of the actual category-crossing silhouette, those hoping for a true tooled version of Bruce Kilgore’s icon will likely have to wait a bit longer. However, on an aesthetic level, shoes like the Air Force 1 “Light Smoke Grey” offer a respite in the meantime.

Indeed, this was on the initial rundown of expected colorways, but as we’ve noted for its peers from that crop, any major hardware changes are largely invisible. To be sure, suede mudguard panels and gum traction underfoot abut the usual specifications we expect from SB product. Yet this Air Force 1 edition is closer compared to the shoe we’ve all come to know and love than any experimental new build. Even with that in mind, the complementary “Light Smoke Grey” coloring up top mixed with “Armory Navy” accents makes for a sensible everyday option, exactly the prompt that most AF1 colorways respond to.

As an earnest GR, the Nike Air Force 1 Low “Light Smoke Grey” will likely populate Nike.com and partnering retailers without much advance warning. To be the first to know when these do land, watch our Sneaker Release Dates hub. A retail price of $125 is expected.
