Nike Dips Into The ACG Vault With 2002’s Phassad

Updated June 20th, 2025: The Nike Phassad is scheduled to release on SNKRS and select retailers in North America on July 2nd ($145).

The Nike ACG revival is alive and well in Beaverton. With their channels now stocked with all manners of all conditions gear, Nike is wasting no time in adding back additional members of the family, with the Nike ACG Phassad now looming to join the crowd for Fall 2025. As with all of the ACG product from around the turn of the century, function comes first with the Nike ACG Phassad, crafted to thread the needle between waterproof utility without leaning into the over-tuned designs that other footwear from the category typically sported.

The result is an easy recognizable overall shape that compares to other lifestyle wear of the era, yet the hardened attachments on top obviously make this one-of-a-kind. Trail-inspired lug traction underfoot, a synthetic lace shroud inspired by tent design, and rubberized toe detailing are the central design features, further retaining the buckled closure from the shoe’s original build. In kind, this “Black/Yellow Zest” colorway is OG as well, carrying over the look that you’ll most frequently find listed on the ‘net.

Zooming out, news of the Nike ACG Phassad retro coming in this way is a real surprise. Typically, the overarching bring-back of ACG oddities is something Nike has managed through their SNKRS Showcase series — the Rufus, Watercat, Izy, Exploraid and Mountain Fly all followed that cadence.

Nonetheless, the ACG Phassad returning to shelves should be a welcome development for both the outdoorsy series’ devotees and possibly for those who generally ascribe to retro aesthetics.
