Nike has the fortunate challenge of their products being met with too high of a demand. With that wealth comes the task of constantly needing to innovate its release procedures in order to divert bots and resellers and get pairs in the hands of true fans of the culture. The newly unveiled SNKRS Link takes aim at this issue by partnering with their creatives to launch shoes, much like how the Nike SB Air Jordan 4 drop on SNKRS was released through a unique link on Eric Koston’s Instagram stories.
According to Nike, the new SNKRS Link is either a link or a QR code. Once you click the link or scan the QR code, you’ll be taken to the SNKRS Link launch experience in the SNKRS App. There, you will learn more about the drop and how to unlock access. If you tap the SNKRS Link or scan the QR code but do not have the SNKRS App installed, you will first be directed to download the app. You will need to click the link or scan the QR code again to enter the launch experience.
With that said, it’s possible that the upcoming Travis Scott shoes will be dropping in a similar manner. With the Jordan Jumpman Jack “Bright Cactus” expected to launch on April 30th and the SNKRS Draw proving to be a discouraging process, Nike could be deploying the SNKRS Link drop with Cactus Jack.
