Kendrick Lamar approved, the Nike Shox R4 has become the most populous member of the Shox retro, filling out six consecutive seasons of general release product without slowing down. The same is all but confirmed for Fall, with a host of new colorways emerging in recent times — the latest, the Shox R4 “Deep Royal Blue,” leans into the strengths the silhouette has shown over that span.
Delivering anew the now widely-accepted harbinger of Y2K style, “Metallic Silver,” the core selling point of this design comes from the interplay between said shade and glossy white on at the quarter against the “Deep Royal Blue” propulsion underfoot. For further evidence of how smitten the Swoosh is with this concept, see the contrast color pistons seen on multiple previous pairs. Further, these sort of aquatic shades have had a habit of dotting the Shox R4 colorway we’ve seen of late, the case for a lighter “Blue Tint” or a hoops-adjacent “Orlando” (this shoe essentially only diverges with the embroidered Swoosh.) All of this to say, this “Deep Royal Blue” do-up of the Shox R4 hits on well-established territory, but as always, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”
The Nike Shox R4 “Deep Royal Blue” is expected to hit Nike.com and retailers as a aprt of the ongoing Summer/Fall product slate. Be ready for a $150 retail price upon arrival.
