With how many can’t miss sneakers have already touched down, attempting to project which will make the requisite end of year lists feels more like a fool’s errand than in any year prior. However, if your foray into sneakers came within the past decade, we can all but guarantee that the Air Jordan 1 “Shattered Backboard” will warrant heavy consideration, now checking off one of its final steps in its rollout with official images now touching down.
Back in 2015, it was a “perfect storm” combination of quality, storytelling, limited stock, and believe it or not, a relatively unexplored primary shade that led to the “Shattered Backboard” becoming the modern classic it now stands as. With these shots confirming the basketball-inspired insoles and crackled print shoe-box, we can confirm at least one of those aspects. We can’t speak to in-hand quality without, well, having this shoe in hand, but tumbled collar panels do indicate that Jordan Brand at least aimed at replicating the buttery leather from a decade ago.
