adidas’ Climacool Laced Surfaces In “Glory Grey”

A second variation on the slip-on-turned-sneaker.

adidas’ Climacool Laced Surfaces In “Glory Grey”

One of adidas’ biggest splashes in 2024 came from an unexpected source, as their slip-on, one-piece, 3D-printed adidas Climacool set the footwear public ablaze. A segmented release strategy wherein regular drops of limited product come every few months has kept the silhouette in the conversation past the midpoint of 2025, but a new build in the adidas Climacool Laced is the silhouette’s most significant development since its debut.

The big change is easily identifiable, splitting the molded construction with a synthetic tongue and traditional closure unit. As some of those directly involved with this project disclosed to SneakerNews, the decision to add a lace system to the Climacool was motivated by aims to latch onto more casual consumers who may have viewed the original build as too alien for their tastes. Tacking on neutral “Glory Grey” is only a natural extension of that thought, helping make the futuristic bend of the silhouette become a bit more everyday but no less impressive overall.

Retailers have already started listing this “Glory Grey” colorway of the adidas Climacool Laced and the previous “Off White” for a July 15th release date, but official word from adidas hasn’t come down just yet. Regardless of which channel you pursue, be ready for a $160 MSRP.
