What if the tech runner and slim-soled shoe trends were combined in one sneaker? In short, that’s essentially the idea behind the New Balance 204L; a new model set to debut Fall 2025. Upcoming collaborations with names like Basketcase, KITH, and AURALEE suggest the Boston brand sees a ton of potential in the 204L, and given the success of other new cuts like the New Balance 2000 and 2010, why wouldn’t they? As anticipation continues to build ahead of the model’s debut, we’ve uncovered an inline “Silver Metallic” pack via official New Balance images.

Here we have two colorways built around a familiar tech-runner palette, complete with metallic silver overlays, white mesh underlays, and soft cream accents throughout. The New Balance logos, eyelets, heel detailing, and outsole differentiate the two pairs – one coming in sage green and the other in navy. As for the hardware, the 204L is distinguished by thin, oval-shaped paneling on both sides. If there’s any one comparison to be made, Miu Miu’s line of New Balance 530s stands out as the most fitting reference (only these won’t run you $1,000+).

The New Balance 204L “Silver Metallic” pack doesn’t have a firm MSRP or release date yet, but both pairs are expected to land during the Fall 2025 window (meaning between July-September).
