The Air Jordan 5 “Wings” Releases July 16th

Anniversaries collide.

The Air Jordan 5 “Wings” Releases July 16th

It’s anniversaries galore for the Nike Inc. in 2025, with the Air Jordan 1 turning 40, Air Max 95 turning 30, and for our purposes, the Jordan 5 ringing in 35 years of greatness. Mike’s fifth signature will see retros for all four OG colorways when it’s all said and done, not to mention the return of a grail in the Jordan 5 “Tokyo23” and a hotly-anticipated collab by AWAKE NY. In pairing one milestone with another, Jordan Brand is also marking the 10th anniversary of its WINGS Program with a special-edition AJ5 releasing in short order.

To the uninitiated; the WINGS Program is a scholarship and community hub created by Jordan Brand to empower kids through education and mentorship. At the same time, it also gives participants an opportunity to cut their teeth in sneaker design. Consistent with our first look from early May, the Jordan 5 “Wings” dazzles with a full “Metallic Silver” satin upper. Stitched cursive text reading “In This Family, No One Flies Alone” appears across the toes, while “10” replaces the model’s often-found “23” on the lateral side of the heel. More WINGS branding appears underneath the heel Jumpman logos, complemented by a custom tag on the inner tongue (which is comprised of soft terrycloth material). A handprint graphic on the outsole echoes the design’s personal touch, and a metal anniversary hangtag and graduation-inspired tassel are also included. This all comes in a custom black box featuring the same “In This Family, No One Flies Alone” message on the inside.

The Jordan 5 “Wings” is confirmed to release in unisex sizing on July 16th via Nike SNKRS. See official images below and hit our Jordan Release Dates page to preview more upcoming 5s.
