Stella McCartney Reworks The adidas Taekwondo With A Futurist Aesthetic

Much is made about adidas’ relationships with the likes of Grace Wales Bonner or Bad Bunny, and in the recent canon, there’s no doubt that they make up some of the brand’s most consequential. However, zooming out, longstanding partnerships like theirs with Stella McCartney have the broadest register. The superstar fashion designer now takes to some trendy fare, unveiling the Stella McCartney x adidas Taekwondo.

Already tinkered with by the aforementioned Puerto Rican singer as his adidas Ballerina, the Taekwondo serves as one of adidas’ many sturdy attendants of the low-pro movement. Rather than leaning into the often classy aesthetics the shoe sports elsewhere in the catalog, McCartney flips for active everyday wear, remodeling the upper with easy-on Primeknit, bolstering it with thin, jagged overlays that echo the futuristic lean seen in the work of Three Stripes sibling sub-brands like Y-3. That runway style additionally manifests with the first of two colorways, an on-trend blast of tonal “Almond Milk,” while its counterpart delivers statement flare in all-over “Semi Impact Orange.”

Both pairs of the Stella McCartney x adidas Taekwondo are available now via adidas.com, each checking in with a $140 sticker price. Hit the “Where To Buy” links embedded below to grab yours, or get a better sense of what to expect with the official image galleries further ahead.
