New Balance’s chokehold on everything neutrally-shaded rolls on regardless of the season. In similar fashion, the New Balance 2002R has become a readily available proposition, a cooldown from the collaborative run it enjoyed shortly after its reintroduction.

The two arms collide with the New Balance 2002R “Incense,” seemingly put forth as a goes-with-anything sort of colorway that’ll meet daily wear year-round. While again, NB’s monopoly on everything grey means that there’s a ton of comparison points available for this shoe, it’s hard not to think of Teddy Santis’ New Balance 993 from Spring/Summer ’24. White outlines on the N logo at the quarter help distinguish and overall break up the palette, but the easy matching opportunities should hold up all the same.
