Original article published July 10th:

The Asia tour has become something of a rite of passage in Beaverton, a continent-spanning jaunt that athletes from Zion Williamson to Sabrina Ionescu have embarked on as a part of Nike, Inc.’s broad initiative to “grow the game.” Increasingly, each hooper has come equipped with product to match the occasion, perhaps best elucidated by the Titan x Sabrina 2 that coincided with her growing presence in the Philippines. As Ja Morant looks to his own trip East, we know what he’ll have in tow before he even sets sail: the Nike Ja 3 “Light Show.”

First revealed as a part of the basketball-focused SNKRS Showcase, the Nike Ja 3 “Light Show” serves as a member of the three-pronged “Make “Em Watch” collection, united by a graffiti “A” on the lateral side to spell out Morant’s first name. While the “EYBL” and “NY v. NY” editions focus stateside, the pair at hand odes to more far-flung locations with a collection of vibrant hues atop a neutral white/grey base; show-stopping reflective blue and pink on the Swoosh meet orange and purple saddled up alongside.

Of course, the hardware hallmarks of the Ja 3 remain in place, highlighted by the jagged synthetics that run vertically from collar to outsole. It’s that bold design choice that’s made the model so well-recieved in its initial reveal, perhaps something that’ll hold up on this upcoming tour. The Nike Ja 3 “Light Show” is currently expected to be exclusive to China, but we’ll keep this page and our Sneaker Release Dates hub current if we receive any additional info to the contrary.
