Matt Varga For years, sneaker brands at large have relied on a simple prompt for the wetter months; “slap some GORE-TEX on it.” In fairness, it’s a winning formula, allowing beloved models to better befit the elements without too harsh of a structural change. Given how healthy Beaverton’s efforts are surrounding the Air Force 1 in general, it’s no surprise that a GORE-TEX offshoot has become a staple of their Fall slate for several seasons running, again the case as two new colorway options surface for 2025.
The waterproofing company isn’t shy in bandying their contributions here, sporting their iconography on a split tongue alongside the Nike Air emblem and on the heel. You’ll spot their efforts on the base layer, a hardened counterpart to usual canvas or suede, while the leather patches that fill out the space above are similarly built for inclement environs. In its Fall 2025 debut, the Nike Air Force 1 Low GORE-TEX executes two dueling aesthetics; on a white/black, you get the standard cleaned-up aesthetics that’ve dotted the Uptown for years, while on a more expressive counterpart, outdoorsy, ACG-style black and orange take hold.
