The Nike Air Monarch IV may be a hot item among the patriarchs and the severely uncool, but the silhouette had its moment in the limelight during the chunky dad shoe craze at the turn of the 2020s. Today, the Monarch exists in a happy medium that combines the clunky look with ironic styling, and Nike is propositioning the satirical sneaker in the quintessential late Fall look.
Yes, Wheat Monarchs are coming, dressed in a tonal golden suede upper and gum bottoms. Continuing a string of iconic Wheat-colored kicks for the Fall season (see: Air Jordan 1 Brooklyn), this all-purpose comfort-focused sneaker is perfectly applied with that workboot aesthetic. It’s just short of the thin, roped laces and touches of black to mirror the Timberland 6″ Boot’s signature ankle padding, but these will certainly suffice.
