The Nike Astra Ultra Eyes The Slim Sneaker Podium In “University Gold”

Giving "Bruce Lee" vibes?

The Nike Astra Ultra Eyes The Slim Sneaker Podium In “University Gold”

Keep your head up PUMA; Nike is coming for some of that Speedcat money. In aiming to compete with the Big Cat and other players like adidas in the slim-soled sneaker arena, Nike has unleashed a new women’s model called the Astra Ultra. With a few EU releases already checked off and a stateside debut set for later this month, we’re continuing to unpack new rollout colorways earmarked for Fall 2025 and beyond. Next up is a “University Gold” pair featuring a black tongue and gum soles, shown here via Nike officials.

The Astra Ultra’s sleek, molded uniform upper might make it difficult for Nike to explore different color blocking schemes, although that’s not necessarily an incitement. This newly-uncovered look borders that of the model’s initial trio, only with a black as opposed to matching “University Gold” tongue. We’d be remiss to not point out the shoe’s “Bruce Lee” resemblance, especially given the leading role black/yellow colorways have had in the slim-sole genre in recent years.

The Nike Astra Ultra “University Gold” doesn’t have a confirmed release date yet, but we’ll go live with an update as soon as that changes. Women’s sizes will be available for $115 upon arrival; see official images below and hit our Sneaker Release Dates page to browse more upcoming Nikes.
