Nike Casts “Sail” On The Pegasus Premium

Another women's-exclusive look for the sought-after runner.

Nike Casts “Sail” On The Pegasus Premium

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again; the Nike Pegasus Premium isn’t like other running shoes. Not just because it’s got ZoomX, ReactX, and Zoom Air, but because it’s completely broken the mold for how Nike (and every other brand for that matter) traditionally brings performance runners to market.

We’re used to seeing new Nike Running models debut in just a handful of colorways that are all produced in large numbers, meaning they almost never sell out instantly. The Pegasus Premium, however, has flipped the script with a whole barrage of colorways but extremely limited stock. Nike’s intentions are clear; get the Pegasus Premium name out there, but limit supply so there’s that added “hype” factor.

Now that the Pegasus Premium is approaching its half year milestone, new colorways have become somewhat easier to cop. This “Sail” option for women is the latest to emerge via Nike officials, taken with a familiar monotone foundation and “Off Noir” hits on the Swoosh and outsole. It’s a no-frills look that epitomizes the sneaker’s appeal as a lifestyle option, slotting effortlessly into just about any wardrobe.

The Nike Pegasus Premium “Sail” doesn’t have a confirmed release date yet, but we’ll update this article as soon as that changes. Expect women’s sizes and the model’s standard $220 MSRP if interested.

Across the hall over in Beaverton, the Jordan 8 “Aqua” returns July 19th.
