Nike’s AI-Designed Low Pro Sneaker Rolls On

Another primary color option enters the mix.

Nike’s AI-Designed Low Pro Sneaker Rolls On

Next gen technology has always been a massive draw in footwear, stretching from when Tinker Hatfield dreamed up the then-far-fetched self-lacing tech of the Nike Mag to more recent iterations like the 3D-printed Air Max 1000. As artificial intelligence crests as this generation’s big buzzword, inserted nearly anywhere it’ll fit, Nike isn’t missing the opportunity to leverage the generative tech into its roster.

Enter the Nike Astra Ultra, already plenty buzzy for its low-pro composition well before the brand let loose details regarding any AI assistance. Once the inaugural “Burgundy Crush” variation populated SNKRS, that detail was proudly stamped within the official product description: “the all-new Astra Ultra explores shape and style by utilizing 3-D, generative AI.”

Given how bold of a claim that is, certainly more information will become clear as the silhouette’s run continues on, but we can comfortably assert that the wavy hallmarks that run throughout this shoe are at least partially what’s referenced there, especially eye-catching with the fingerprint-like curvilinear traction that creeps onto the upper towards the heel. For this pair in specific, the general aesthetic of the debut pair lives on, palette swapping into a lighter gum sole underfoot and cooler “Blue Void” up top.

The Nike Astra Ultra “Blue Void” should be hitting SNKRS in short order, commanding the same $115 retail price once it does.
