The second chapter in their overarching “Every Summer Tells A Story” campaign, first introduced with their Air Max 95 and Air Force 1, the “Black Collective” moniker derives from a partnership with Seed2Shirt for this release, providing the cotton used on the laces and with an accompanying apparel collection. The AM95 and AF1 will also re-release at the same time via those same channels.

Official On-White Images Of The A Ma Maniere x Air Jordan 5 “Black Collective”
While the aesthetics are certainly of note, again, the top note with the A Ma Maniere x AIr Jordan 5 “Black Collective” is its story. The presence of Seed2Shirt, the first black-owned, vertically integrated supply chain, speaks to the concept of “Reclamation” that lights this collection. You’ll find further reinforcement with the peripherals for this Retro; the paper inside each box is a telegram espousing values of free expression, human rights, and “access to a higher standard,” postmarked for Juneteenth 2025.
Like many of AMM’s previous Jordan collaborations, the layout for the Air Jordan 5 “Black Collective” carries the brand’s well-established hallmarks. The “A” monogram makes multiple appearances, on alternating tongues, on alternating outsole prints, and embedded within the iconic netting panel on the side. “Violet Ore” tonality, already a star on the Jordan 39 and Jordan 4, defines the quilted interior and sharktooth midsole, additionally helping to deliver the refined air that the DC brand majors in.
