Matt Varga Giannis Antekounmpo has already had quite a summer, beginning in tumultuous fashion by seemingly inching towards a trade request and then seeing All-Star running mate Damian Lillard functionally swapped for Myles Turner. Luckily, in recent weeks things have taken a more positive turn; he’s united with iShowSpeed for an extended hang in Grece, and is staring down the debut of his latest signature, the Giannis Freak 7, now appearing in “Thunder Blue.”
Continuing those sunny vibes, the Freak 7 is already set up to be the 2-time MVP’s most well-recieved to date, a sentiment we saw frequently expressed after the model’s initial reveal. Though this “Thunder Blue” wasn’t among that initial salvo, it nonetheless demonstrates the in-your-face aura that’s permeated all the looks so far, infusing “Volt” tonality in the Swoosh to counterbalance the otherwise calm tones utilized in the upper and midsole. All of this gives way to a neutral split in the outsole, already cut in half by jagged geometry, delivering two shades of “Phantom” fat the bottom of this design.
The Nike Giannis Freak 7 “Thunder Blue” drops Fall 2025, retailing for $120.
