The era of the Nike Ja 3 is officially upon us, Morant kicking off his boldest design to date as the “NY vs. NY” edition begins making its way into public hands. While he’s certainly taken the wind from us and other outlets of our ilk, the Grizzlies superstar has also continued to take first looks and leaks into his own hands in chapter three, recently taking to Instagram to preview what’s coming down the pike for his latest signature. Among that crowd was the Nike Ja 3 “Mink Brown,” now coming into clear view through more typical early info sources.
Given how the Ja line has leaned on ultra-vibrant coloring that align with a fanbase that skews younger and an overall animated on-court persona, this “Mink Brown” edition instantly stands out from the crowd. While the standout stripe/claw design still makes for plenty of character, neutrals truly do rule the upper of this shoe, pinning two adjacent shades of brown next to “Pink Foam” Swooshes to approach a Neapolitan-style concept. In contrast to some of the tournament-specific editions, the spray-painted A is absent from this pair, instead relying on the natural geometry of the shoe to spell out “JA” on the lateral and medial sides.
Though any info this far out is very much subject to date, for now, circle October 18th for the debut of the Nike Ja 3 “Mink Brown.” The model’s stock $125 retail price is expected upon arrival.
