Donovan Mitchell Pays Homage To Panama On The adidas DON Issue #7

At the 2025 All-Star game selection, Charles Barkley dredged up a fact that many casual NBA fans may not have been aware of: he qualified Donovan Mitchell for his “Global Stars” on basis of his mother’s Panamanian roots. Though he’s publicly flirted with representing Team USA at the Olympics, that portion of Donovan Mitchell’s heritage is always something he’s worn proud, beginning in footwear with a mismatched PE of the adidas DON Issue 4 that interpreted the nation’s flag.

Given that, vexillologists may be vexed by the adidas DON Issue 7 “Panama” at first, eschewing the red, white, and blue most easily associated with the country. Rather than that conventional route, Donovan Mitchell’s publicly released Panama series has instead borrowed green and yellow from the nation’s coat of arms. First officially stamped on the adidas DON Issue 6, the ripened shades take a more understated approach on the sequel, splayed out in a gradient on the exterior shell while keeping jet black intact one layer below.

The adidas DON Issue #7 “Panama” has started appearing on retail release calendars with an August 16th release date. Expect a $120 MSRP upon arrival.
