It’s Goadome Season: Nike’s Popular Air Max Boot Is Back

We’d like to think that Wale factored into Nike’s decision to bring back the Air Max Goadome (or the “Nike Boots” as he famously called them in a 2007 track). The DMV rapper, who now has a reinvigorated relationship with the Swoosh through his Nike GT Future marketing, claims that his area should be accredited with popularizing the model, while others, notably Jim Jones of Harlem’s Dipset, claim otherwise. One thing’s for certain though; both are surely pleased to see the boot find its way back into the Nike catalog.

The Air Max Goadome was designed by Carl Blakeslee and originally debuted as part of Nike’s ACG division in the year 2000. Nike ACG was in a bit of weird phase in the late 90s/early 2000s as Nike shifted much of its outdoor shoe business to other verticals, which resulted in several off-beat yet cherished models (see the Nike ACG Rufus). As most can probably deduce, the Goadome was introduced in an effort to combat the popularity of Timberland boots. It’s got a durable leather upper and rugged tread underfoot, but makes its strongest point of appeal through visible Air in between.

This “Black/Sesame/Neutral Olive” Goadome is one of a few colorways you can cop now via nike.com, preceded by a “White/Gum” pair and luxe black leather option. Notably, while no longer categorized as an ACG shoe on the Nike website, etched “ACG” text appears on the lateral side of the midsole.

See our Where To Buy section below to cop these now via Nike; the Goadome retails for $200 and is available exclusively in men’s sizing.
