Nike Is Dropping Only 300 Pairs Of The GT Future “Fire”

Nike Is Dropping Only 300 Pairs Of The GT Future “Fire”

With their offerings throughout this summer, Nike has redoubled its efforts in the tournament scene. While we’ve become accustomed to seeing plenty of PE heat come out of Peach Jam and the like, attaching the “NY v. NY” name to the debut Ja 3 and tacking additional activations onto the event has been a marked step up from what we’re used to. Easily the most high-profile is still ahead of us, however. The Nike GT Future, long-teased and long-anticipated, will get its introductory release on August 10th exclusively in New York.

Reportedly, only 300 pairs of the Nike GT Future “Fire” will be released, requiring you to be in attendance during the “Future’s Game” on Sunday, August 10th at 5 PM. Official copy is very specific in noting that this edition won’t release through any other channel; you’ll need to place a pre-order by scanning in-person QR codes around the venue. Here’s where the fine print comes in; rather than being able to pick up your shoes then and there, it’ll still lock down your pair, but it won’t be shipped out towards the very end of the year.

Taken alongside some of the in-person activations for Nike and Jordan launches throughout this year (the A’One giveaway in Wilson’s hometown, the aforementioned NY-exclusive Ja 3), this marks another clear moment where hyper-local and otherwise exclusive launches are in focus. Overall, it’s becoming more and more clear that Beaverton is leaning into a “restore the energy” sort of angle, unsurprising here as they debut one of Nike Basketball’s buzziest recent propositions.

If you’re able to lock down your pre-order this weekend, expect a $200 retail price. As you decide whether to set sail for Central Park, check out on-foot images of the Nike GT Future “Fire” below. The silhouette as a whole is meant to release Holiday 2025.
