The Nike SB Dunk Low may not be the defining shoe in the culture any longer, either in terms of hype or secondary market premiums, but maybe that’s a good thing for its core fans. On top of making the silhouette a far more accessible product, it’s also allowed the core SB team the space to cook once again, exploring far-flung themes without needing to feed the machine with collaborative efforts. Case in point: the Nike SB Dunk Low “Verdugo Mountains,” inching closer to release as a suite of official images touch down.

Though not depicted clearly in these shots, the centerpieces of this design come on the interior, displaying the shoe’s namesake on alternating tongue tags and a mountain bike on alternating tongue tags. A more stylized, detailed vista of the range is included on the insoles, mixing natural details with cell towers and satellite dishes. Even without those special edition touches, this colorway should still speak to SB devotees; a gum/black sole unit contrasts a pistachio green suede upper and a reflective silver Swoosh.

Combine news of this pair with that of the Nike SB Dunk Low “Muni Pass,” and local California homages are a point of emphasis for the imprint.
