EXCLUSIVE: The Nike Shox BB4 “Olympic” Returns Summer 2026

The sneaker Vince Carter made famous in the 2000 Summer Olympics is coming back for another retro release. Sneaker News can confirm that the Nike Shox BB4 “Olympic,” last seen in 2019, is set to return Summer 2026.

The Shox BB4 falls in the quasi-signature sneaker category alongside models made famous by names like Scottie Pippen and Tim Duncan, achieving worldwide fame when Vince Carter gave us “The Dunk Of Death” in a PE during the 2000 Sydney games. Carter leapt over 7’2 French center Frederic Weis in what’s widely regarded as one the greatest in-game dunks of all time, making the BB4 an instant point of intrigue. With his effortless hops, the young Raptors star was simply the perfect frontman for the Eric Avar-designed model. The Shox BB4 debuted the same year as the Shox R4, Nike’s first Shox running sneaker, and helped introduce a propulsion-focused cushioning system that was by all means revolutionary for its time. Nike honored Vince Carter with a special player edition package to celebrate his NBA Hall Of Fame induction last year, and now the public is getting treated to the model’s most well-known colorway.

2025 marks the 25th anniversary of the Shox BB4, which makes the impending return of the “Olympic” colorway a bit of a belated celebration. The 2026 release features a palette of “White/Midnight Navy-Metallic Silver,” aligning perfectly with the “Olympic” colorway as we’ve come to know it. We have no reason to believe the sneaker won’t look like the 2019 retro (pictured below), but we’ll go live with another update as soon as images of the 2026 version surface. For now, you can mark your calendar for a release on June 1st, 2026 for $180.
