The Nike Shox Ride 2 has mixed several mold-breaking looks into its renewed run, but that’s not to say established retro aesthetics have been absent entirely. Exhibit A; this Fall/Holiday 2025 release that might just conjure thoughts of one of the world’s most meme-ified “dad shoes.”

Adopting a palette known well by weekend grillers and corny joke makers, the Shox Ride 2 here takes after the infamous Air Monarch with a “Photon Dust/Midnight Navy/Metallic Silver/Anthracite” colorway. It’s unlikely the resemblance is intentional, but it’s there nonetheless. The “Midnight Navy” color appears notably on the Swoosh, Shox pillars, and Air cushioning in the forefoot, while “Metallic Silver” overlays wrap a neutral mesh base.
