The momentum surrounding the Air Foamposite One has slowed down considerably since reaching its high speeds back in February. The re-release of the “Galaxy” Foamposites had the streets buzzing again, but the once headlining model hasn’t been able to effectively re-establish itself in 2025 despite strong product like the upcoming “Carbon Fiber” Foamposites.

Truthfully, Foamposites will never truly be able to capture the same energy it had in the early 2010s. There are too many options on the market to choose from, while the Foamposite itself was always a difficult sneaker to wear outside the sports/casual aesthetic championed by regions like the DMV and New York City. Perhaps the goal is to re-connect with that core community rather than reach a larger audience, and this “Carbon Fiber” execution is a strong example of creating one for the culture.

Carbon Fiber is an extremely lightweight and durable composite largely used in the automotive and aerospace industries. Its arrival into Nike footwear in the mid-1990s made its footwear seem truly next-level, elevating models like the Air Jordan 11 and Air Foamposite One into a class of its own. Carbon fiber was used selectively through Nike and Jordan footwear from that point on; this Air Foamposite One is a homage to that innovative era, undeniably a “fan service” moment for true Foamposite fans.

This Air Foamposite One is set to launch at SNKRS and Nike retailers on October 24th, 2025 with a $240 MSRP; see a closer look at the upcoming release just ahead.
